During the year 1971 Mont Clare Lodge No.1040 voted to merge with Elmwood Park Lodge, both lodges concurring, and at the annual meeting of the Grand Lodge, the name was changed to Elm Clare Lodge No.1163. During the year 1974 Ashlar Lodge No.308 voted to merge with Elm Clare and by regular action, the consolidation was affected and approved by the Grand Ldoge. At the annual meeting the name was changed to Elm Clare Ashlar. In 2001 the members of William McKinley Lodge No.876 voted to consolidate with Elm Clare Ashlar. The consolidation was approved by the Grand Lodge and at the next annual meeting the name was changed to Clarence P. Schwarz Lodge No.1163. Bro. Schwarz was raised in Vega Herder Lodge in 1925 and dimitted to Elmwood Park Lodge to become a Charter Member thereof. He had a very close relationship with Wm. McKinley Lodge and was a Past master of Elmwood Park Lodge. During his 59 year masonic career he served as DDGM, member and Chairman or the Board of Grand Examiners. He was elected Grand Master in 1963 and served the customary two year term. Capable hands have guided the destinies of these lodges and we have steadily progressed to take our place as one of the outstanding lodges in Illinois. To those who have served in the past, present and future, you dedication to the craft is cherished. To those who serve by attending meetings and offering your support, you contribution is invaluable. In October 2004, William McKinley Lodge will be 100 years old, and Elmwood Park Lodge will be 75 years old. Watch for announcement of the planned celebration.
On February 2, 2006 the Most Worshipful Grand Master Noel C. Dicks approved the consolidation of Wright's Grove Lodge No.779 with Clarence P. Schwarz Lodge No.1163.
